Scene Level Revisions: Rinse And Repeat

Hi everyone,

I’m on to my next scene and so I’m repeating the process of the last few days. Which is: read the relevant scene in my messy first draft. Clean it up, make a tight plan of what I wish I’d done first time round. Then write it.

So basically rinse and repeat.

I don’t have much to say about this except I find it fun. I like checking off scenes that I’ve completed, and I like to read them back later and enjoy my improvements. Each scene brings me closer to the end, and I feel that every time I mark a scene as complete.

I think it’s important to track what you’re doing, have a place to tick things off, or cross things out. Feedback that you’ve achieved something. It helps sustain motivation.

My next scene is a fun one so I’m looking forward to editing/writing it. The setting is cool and cool stuff happens to my MC. Tomorrow, I’ll tackle the plan.

That’s it for now. See you tomorrow.

Happy writing,

Joanne.
